My current Company Status:
1. Office
a. Nearly all inventories were damaged by 3-4 feet of flood waters.
i. Insurance is currently accessing the damages.
b. Other items that were higher and not damaged are now threatened by mold due to standing water.
i. All of which is not covered by insurance, we are currently working on trying to remove these items.
c. No phones, no current way to forward them due to BellSouth line problems.
d. No internet at the office.
e. No power at office
f. No running water or sewage at the office.
g. No way to currently receive inventory.
i. No Ups, FedEx, truck for shipping in or out
h. Our main invoicing and billing computer and some records are intact (it was relocated during the storm) and has been moved off site.
2. Immediate concerns:
a. Office relocation and/or rebuilding.
b. Replacing damaged inventory/computers/office products.
c. Receiving inventory in a secure location.
d. Housing and food expenses for employees.
e. Funding for payroll
f. Upcoming work and projects.
g. Refund requests from customers who have lost their homes whose projects were staged and not delivered.
h. Removing the small amount of inventory that is not damaged and relocating it.
i. Logistically trying to do work that is requested.
i. We have two current jobs.
Good News one of our installers was able to relocate and has found work in Atlanta, GA. Thank you!!

AVI, based in Alpharetta, GA (an Atlanta suburb) may have 12-month contract work for your installers. The work will either be a) here in Metro Atlanta or b) in a neighboring state IF we win a huge 12-18 month contract. If we do win it, we'll offer housing assistance -- probably in a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment near the site of the job. Depending on skills and experience, we'll offer $20 + an hour.

Dear Chuck,
I couldn't find an appropriate forum to post this so I am sending it to you.
I want to send a thank you to Cedia for their help in refunding our Cedia Expo registration fees and classes. I have given that money directly to the installers and staff that attended the expo. I am also very appreciative of the manufacturers, finance companies and their help in light of our current situation. Everyone has been very generous.
